From breeding a "Lesser Platty" male to an F1 "Phantom" female ( 01 ).........my "Phantom" is what I used to call my "Mojave-ish" looking balls.............I changed the name...........my original "Phantom" female has produced babies that look just like her the past two years............I would expect that she is "co-dom"...........I'm hoping that I can get a "Phantom / Lesser Platty" cross in this breeding........I can't wait for these eggs to hatch ( 01 moj f # 1 )

2.0 " White snakes with blue eyes", 1.0 Phantom and 1.0 normal looking sib hatched on 7/30/03.......one egg went bad.............HOLY SHIT!!...........this is the exact same breeding as clutch # 14.............the mom Phantom of this clutch ( # 42 ) is the daughter of my "Original Phantom" ( who produced clutch # 14 )............both this clutch and clutch # 14 were sired by Lesser Platty males............sooooooooo.............I would have to say that "I'm on to something here"..............am I lucky enough to have two different mutations out of the wild that ALSO carry the gene to produce white snakes???...........I'm Blessed PEOPLE!!!.................Rock ON!!! ................and on a side note..........clutch # 14 did produce a cross between a Phantom and a Lesser Platty.............so I would rule out that the "White Snake" is the "Cross".............I'm calling it a "Bonus" until I breed more and see what is happening here.............I need to know if the white snakes can be produced within the Phantom and the Platty bloodlines "Alone" without being crossed...............ain't it fun!!!

From breeding an Albino male that is possible het for "Jolliff Snow"( Axanthic ) to a het VPI Axanthic female..............this is crazy???????.............every baby will be het for Albino at least...........( 99 het ax vpi f # 1 )

From breeding a "Lesser Platty" male to a normal looking "sibling" female ( both were sired by the Platty Daddy ).............I'm hoping to reveal a "hidden gene"..............I'm wondering if the Platty Daddy is also homozygous for a simple recessive trait that makes him look so different from his "lesser" offspring??.............I would expect more "Lessers" from this clutch...........and who knows what else????????? ( 01 platty sib f # 3 )

0.1 " Looks like Platty Daddy" and 2.0 normal looking offspring hatched on 8/5/03...........3 eggs went bad in this clutch..........well all I can say is that I think my theory about Platty Daddy hiding another gene is correct............the light baby produced in this clutch could be exactly what Daddy is............I have produced enough Lessers to know that this is not a Lesser...........I bred a Lesser to a normal looking "Lesser Sib" ( all related ) hoping that they each would carry the gene that makes Daddy Platty look the way he does...............and I would say for sure that I "hit" on something crazy here...........the Platty Project rules!!...........I have just shown that there is a simple recessive trait in the Platty gene...............what is it??.............I have no idea............I will have to breed more and hopefully see if the trait hits on a normal looking ball python.............I would say that it "hit" on a Lesser in this clutch.............all the stock that came directly from the Platty Daddy I would say are "Hets" for the "Hidden Trait" ( Lessers and Normal Sibs alike )...............all the stock that came from "Lessers" would be 50% poss hets for the "Hidden Trait".............

From breeding an Albino male to a 50% possible het Albino female................all babies will be at least het for Albino ...........hopefully I will see some baby Albino hatch from this clutch...........this female has laid before from being bred to a het Albino male........no Albinos were produced. ( phalb f # 2 )
