This page is divided into three sections............."Proven", "Designer" and "Unproven" ball python traits...........the proven traits are recognized because they have been reproduced to be exactly the same mutation ( color or pattern or both ) as the original parent/parents.The unproven traits are recognized as traits............but they have not actually been reproduced or "proven" at this time. As new mutations are produced and proven they will then get the almighty "Proven Status" and be recognized as yet another awesome ball python mutation that we all welcome to the hobby!!

The "Designers" are just that..........combos of different single mutations combined to make a " new morph"............Designers are what it's all about and the reason that Ball Pythons will never ever be boring.........:)

I will try and get the actual breeder who did all the proving of the gene or "designing" to write for their own mutation..........in most cases, "The Breeder" may ask me to do the writing ........the writing will be "short and sweet".......just the facts.

You'll notice that some entries will just have a "blurp" or two written by me on the mutation...........as we figure out more on some mutations ........I will go in and enter more "blurps".........I'm more interested in just having all the mutations listed here first ( yeah right.....too many )...........the info will come as we learn more........as some mutations unravel more, updates will be made to the pages............the most current info being towards the bottom of each entry.

The "dom" and "co-dom" entries may confuse some people with the dates ( year ) that they were proven........even if a mutation is found to be co-dom "later on"..........the date ( year ) that it was proven dominant is the date ( year ) that is recorded as " When" in some cases.........some entries will have the date ( year ) that the mutation was proven "co-dom" in the body of the entry..........."co-dom" meaning that there is a SUPER.....if it's listed as "Dominant"...........that means no Super has been produced as of yet.

I'm NOT a SCIENTIST or GENETICIST........this is all just fun to me........my descriptions or "takes" on each mutation is how I see it......let's keep it simple folks.....this stuff is WAYYYYYY over our heads....;)......I like to think of it like this.....A x B = C..........right?????.....think of this section as a growing "note pad" and a place to record all the Ball Python Mutations whether we fully understand each mutation or not............if it can be reproduced or "looks" like a morph...........it will be listed here........from unproven to proven simple recessive, dom or co-dom.........
